My name is Divya, I am a student of Human-Computer Interaction from IDC, IIT Bombay, based in Mumbai, India. My key areas of interest are User Experience Design, Service Design, 2D/3D Graphics, Speculative Design, Fashion, and Sustainability.
Currently, I want to explore the domains of AR/VR/MR, Experimental Graphic Design, Speculative Design and Interactive Installation Art.
Coming from a background in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai, my definition of Design has constantly changed over the last five years of my education in design.
Design is an abstract term: but to me, designing is a way to make life’s experiences richer. I say this because the above-mentioned statement is scalable to every design problem that I have worked on, so far.
Coming from the requirements in the Fashion Industry, where the deliverables have been to design a new range of bags for a certain season, to the Service Design domain, where the deliverables have been Service Blueprints: one commonality is that it made the life of the user richer. Maybe not easier, but it sure added more value to their life: be it socially, economically, psychologically or functionally.
Outside of academics, I love music and love discovering new music. My favourite genres are alternative rock, French electronic music and Indian classical sitar. I hold a diploma in Indian Classical Music, and I keep my eyes peeled to know more underground artists. I also love to read (whatever interests me, although I love HBRs and Murakami) and write (some ramblings and thoughts about a few things).
My current dream is to visit every country in the world.
